Honda 4 Wheeler

I have owned 2 4 wheelers,a Polairus, and a Honda.I bought a new Honda 200 last year because of the name that Honda has.Ive used Honda equ. for years and found them to be the best. This Honda has disappointed me.It is rough ideling, cold natured, battery failed in less than a year,Hard to use the recoil hand starter because of the compression and the throttle being on the oppsite side,Ive used less than a gallon of gas through it and its been a nightmare. After it warms up it does run good.My polarous was a good ATV wish I had bought another one

my older 200 has a compression release for hand starting---sounds like you need to ritchen the fuel mixture

I have a rancher 420 and it has automatic choke if I touch the throttle while starting it either won't start or will run like crap till it gets shut of and started over without touching throttle. then it runs perfect hot or cold makes no difference i can't touch the throttle on start up. It start very quick and easy without throttle.

Here is a picture of my Honda

sounds like mine except my battery didn't fail. when you use the hand recoil, pull it slowly just past the hard compression, then give it a brisk yank and it is an easy one handed pull. the cold blooded problem is aggravating. if the cows are out, you want the stupid 4-wheeler to go now and go fast, not sit there and warm up for a few minutes.

Isn't a Honda 200 4 wheeler something like 30 years old? I'm not sure I would blame the hard starting on Honda. It's reasonable to expect a 30 year old Polaris might not work exactly like you'd want either.

I didn't know they still made anything as small as a 200. Anyhow, we bought my wife a 250 Honda recon in 97 so we had something dependable to drag my POS Polaris out of the woods when it quit! Then I got a 400 Honda foreman in 98 and have 5500 miles on it, only unscheduled maintenance was starter brushes, and that was intermittent. I know Hondas are cold blooded, but they only burn half as much gas as a Polaris 425 magnum!

It5 on the front upper part of the cylinder---actually on the head/valve cover as it keeps a valve open when cranking--auto shuts when engine starts

Yes, 200 only made in several chassis from 82 to 84. I don't know why he says he bought "New" ATV.A 30 year old used atv, he's lucky he ever gets it running. How can he complain about a $500 scooter?

you have only burnt a gallon of gas. that tells me you dont use it much. every honda that I have had the gas in the carburetor will go bad after sitting for as little as 2 wks. then they get hard to start, run the battery down takes a good run to charge it right up. when you do get them running they run rough and cold blooded.
the good news is it only takes a flat screwdriver drain the gas out of the carb (the gas in the tank will be good.)and they will start instantly and run smooth like a honda.

if you want to solve the cold blooded take carb apart and change the pilot jet it should be a 38 replace with a 40 little to no choking after jet change.
