83 John Deere 1250

I have a 1983 JD 1250 tractor,with a Yanmar motor.
Why is it so hard to find parts? I need a the motor rebuilt ,I had the crank shaft repaired I need bearings etc.
John Deere tells me everything on that model has been discontinued, and no where to turn to find parts,info etc.

Any help would be great

You're not looking hard enough. Google "Yanmar engine parts" lots of hits. Mother Deere is not your only source.
