Bought a new bucket

Got the old fella a new bucket, third bucket for this tractor. I like to keep one for feed, and one for manure. Manure bucket was beyond repair, so feed budket is the new manure bucket, and this is just for feeding. Heavy duty loader bucket....$1750.00. Not having to wash the loader ever day, priceless. Bruce

i remember a field trip we took in a farm management class at Cornell, about the time skid steers were just becoming available. the farmer had one of those new fangled things, and was using it to scrape the freestall AND load feed. the prof asked if he washed the bucket in between and the farmer said no. prof said after a pause, "cows like that?"
lol.
point taken.

Switching buckets is one of the measures you can do to combat Johne"s Disease. It decimated our herd. Still no cure or effective vaccination. Interesting reading a late 40s USDA Yearbook of Agriculture....knowledge now is little more than what it was back then.

Makes one wonder if stainless would ever catch on. Or even stainless liners.

At least rust wouldn't be an issue any more. Price would be unreal though.
