Brockway tractor

Gentlemen! I need a rear axle for a Brockway 49-G tractor I just acquired. This is a later Brockway with the 8 bolt axle flange. I speaking with Mr. Brockway he informs me Brockway used their own axle, and he doesn"t have a source for it,he only has some transmission gears, etc. left. Any and all replies will be most helpful, thanks in advance!!

That tractor is so rare ! Can you post some pix ? If you can find an axle with the correct spline , you could get the flange machined to your spec's....Or vice versa .

If I can figure out how to forward a picture I have-"Computer Challenged" so to speak-I had hopes! Brockway may have used a vendor built axle, but not to be,according to Mr. Brockway. That option may well be what I wind up doing, this one failed at the bull gear. At least the bull gear wasn"t damaged, looks like a possible stress fracture. Guess the previous owner gave up trying to locate one,how I was able to buy it.

Have you tried a Mack dealer for your axle. It seems that they were acquired by Mack For a while before closing the doors for good. According to the history of Brockway. There is a good read on the company if you do a search for the web site .
