MoonPie history

Officially, it's "an RC cola and a Moon Pie", but whatever you prefer will do. Being from, no, not "from" North Carolina, because I never left, so I guess I should say, being a native North Carolinian, Moon Pies have been a favorite all my life. Along with pouring a bag of peanuts into a bottle of Coke, etc, etc. Now dang it, I'm gonna have to make a run to Dollar General, cause I'm craving a Moon Pie!

Greg, I don't know where you are located, but I just Googled "RC Cola" and they do seem to have a distribution problem. Wikipedia has some fascinating information on RC history, and they also seem to have opportunities available for someone to open bottling facilities, so there may be a business opportunity for you. LOL.

Can't get RC's although we are knee deep in ALE-8's. I do not like ALE-8.Made right here in Kentucky.

Any one that knows me, knows that I love sweets, but I would rather eat my hat than a moon pie. Maybe its just because I'm a northern fella that just don't understand the moon pie.

Years ago I saw a movie called "The Green Mile". I think that it might have been MoonPie and Coke, if memory serves me correct.

Just proves that those hollywood types never get it right.
Moon Pie and RC Cola.

Yep, I must agree with the Moon Pie & RC. Coke steels some of the flavor from the chocolate, that's why I'm not a fan & Coke is my usual cola. It's a shame you can't get any RC. May I suggest a Soda Stream? You can get RC syrup for it. It is quite a treat to have fresh-mixed RC.

Greg, that was interesting too. Never heard of it, but I understand the limited distribution. Is it a "hot" ginger ale? I can find Blenheim around here and when you drink that stuff, you know it has ginger in it! There are two or three of the more popular names in beverages, whose product shouldn't be allowed to use the name "Ginger Ale" because it is so weak.

We used to drink cokes and get a 5 cent bag of Tom's peanuts. We'd take a few sips of coke and then dump the bag into the bottle.

Had RC too and I couldn't tell the difference. Still have both here.

Rember Grapette? How about Orange Crush? I was in San Antonio, TX. back then and they sold a huge beverage in fruit flavors. Name was Hippo. The bottle lived up to the name but I don't recall the volume it held. You couldn't get your hand around it, it was so large.

I use to like a 12 ounce Pepsi and a Clark bar. Then later it was always a Coke and a bag of Planters Salted peanuts. Then later it was a PBR and a bag of pork rinds. Then it was Coors and bar supplied popcorn. Now it's Kroger's microwave popcorn and a glass of A and W root beer.
Next I'm gonna try a Pepsi hand grenade and a Clark bar. (Really should try a glass of water and a toothpick 'cause of my weight).
