Dello 400 Oil

For many years, I have used Chevron Dello 400 in straight 30 weight in all my farm equipment and small engines.
Now it seems that it is getting harder and harder to find.
I use same brand in 15W-40 in my newer equipment but I do not like to change oils weights in my older engines.
What oil do any of you recommend, in a 30#?

(quoted from post at 16:51:50 10/22/14) I run 15W-40 Delvac in all my equipment. Why do you think you need to run 30W.
One reason is that the owners manual of all my older equipment suggest an SAE30 oil. This is considering that I do not use these engines in winter.
I am aware that many changes have been made with motor oils but years ago, I ran into problems with several engines, by switching to multi-grade oils.
Why change if I have never had a problem? Like my Wheel Horse lawn tractor that has close to 1K hours and still runs burns no oil??

If you can't find 30w, I would feel better with the 15w40 in the same brand.

Theory is changing brands introduces different detergent packages that "might" break loose sludge that is harmlessly sitting stuck in the oil pan, valve covers, etc.

Could be old wives tale, never actually seen it happen to the extent it caused a problem.

I use Wal*Mart Super Tech 30. I feel it more closely matches the Series III designation recommended by Cat years ago. Beware of the new LE oils they are not for older engines.

That's one of the problems I was referring to.

(quoted from post at 18:31:36 10/22/14) Oils have improved a LOT in recent years.

That's one of the major reasons todays engines last longer and have extended oil change schedules.
