Draft Control

I have an International Harvester 3444 tractor, the draft control does not work. I read and followed the instructions in the operators manual but the draft control does not work, Can any one help?

There's a lot of mechanism involved, and quite a few things that can go wrong.

I have a 424 and have had some issues, and it is ESSENTIAL to have the factory service manual if you are going to troubleshoot and repair it yourself.

Hi, are you trying to use the draft control with an in ground like a plow or cultivator?
Quick check, look for a small rod that sticks out of the hydraulic housing and contacts the top link mechanism. When you move the draft control lever the rod goes in and out. Also there is a spring in the top link mechanism that has to be snug.

There is a control lever/chain inside the hydraulic housing.
