Ford 4000 Oil Pressure Indicator light on with oil pressure

I have a ford 4000 gas 3 cylinder that has an oil pressure indicator problem. The light is on, I've checked the sending unit and the switch closes when the tractor is turned off, opens when it is running (indicating oil pressure) but the light is on (not full on, but kind of flickering). I think this is a 1973 tractor with a C serial number. I recently had the generator rebuit, but that light is on as well. The battery idicates 15.3 volts when running, but when the oil presure light comes on, the battery level drops to 12.2 and the gen light comes on. Any ideas? Thanks
 
Trace the wire from the sensor to the lamp, looking for worn or damaged insulation.

15.3 , voltage is to high, better check to see why it is over
charging before you cook the battery and it may solve your
issues with the lights as well.
 
check ground wires. I think the main ground goes to isolated post on starter, needs another from there to sheet metal & engine.

When I got the tractor home I took the gen off and checked the brushes, which were worn down to the point of not touching the armature. I had the gen rebuilt and the gen light went out. I didn't look at at he voltage regulator. Do you think that may need adjustment?

raced the harness this weekend and found a worn spot at the engine block were the harness takes a hard right turn. Lift the harness up off the engine block and the light goes off! Wrapped with electrical tape as a quick fix until I cna do a better job.
