1978 F2 Gleaner 430 corn head

I have a 1978 F2 Gleaner with a 430 corn head. The head is running too fast. How do I slow it down? It does not have a variable speed drive.

Orange or Black (A series) head? I have the A corn head book showing sprocket combos. Let me know which head you have. I also have the orange head and can check which sprockets are on it, and my F2.

Would 78 have just been the new black head?

Anyhow, there are several options as to sprockets on the cross shaft of the combine that drive the header. You need to match up a different set of sprockets. They are a double sprocket.
