Could be true..

I read this in a book recently; seems to have a measure of truth to it.

A Grandfather was giving advice to his grandson about money. He said: "Always remember, for every dollar that you have, there are 3 people plotting to get it away from you."

Does that ring a bell with anyone?

LOL, you got that right. Back in the day, Dad would set up the card table after he got the milk check, and pay bills. He used to say "The milk check marched onto that side of the table, and all of it marched into envelopes and went straight off the other side. Couldn't even slow any of it down."

That's for sure been through that .neighbors wanted farm banker decided to help them in spite of a handwriting expert willing to prove forgery and affidavits the judge decided that the forgery wasn't brought to him in a timely manner and the affidavits weren't written up correctly .The end result I had to declare bankruptcy to hang on my lawyer got fired and her boss got a job in a neighboring county as a judge and one of his contributions for reelection came from the banker.
This was tied in with f h a we pushed it all the way to Washington .I had no choice but to settle they had more money than me.i also in order to get the bankruptcy had to sign a paper saying I wouldn't sue the bank because they didn't do anything wrong.
So don't trust banker's neighbors or anybody I got a good reason for not trusting anybody.
If you're wondering how they had two loan's they ran all payments into one got the government loan behind by 2000 and refused payment to get it caught up.he was a very slick banker I wasn't the only one he tried

Yep,three months after I sold the cows,I ran out of deposit slips before I ran out of checks. That had never happened before. It's happened several times since.

Another one that I believe to be true is "It is easier to make money than to hang on to it" . Many people have good incomes but don't hang on to much of their money.

All forms of Government are that way too. The government has a massive tax "income" ]. There is zero incentive for that government body to not spend every dime of tax money plus some. Everyone wants all the tax money plus more to be given as "freebees" to "the voters" . Which is fine with those same voters as long as they are getting some of the action.

If you farm at all,you know how true this is.

The equipment dealer.
The machinery salesman
The mill
the fertilizer dealer
The seed salesman
The vet
The auctioneer
The milk co-op
The chemical companies

And I could go on......

Only three sounds very low. The ultimate (and legitimate) job of every businessman is to separate someone else from some of their money, that's capitalism.

As was said, that is 3 people for EACH dollar that a person has. So just multiply the number of dollars that a person has times 3 people - that could be a lot of people after an individual.

I remember a JD salesman driving into our farmyard and looking at our Shorthorn cattle. He asked right out who had the mortgage on those cattle. I answered him: "No mortgage on the cattle - and we don't buy anything made by JD after our experience with that "G" that you see setting over there." He left without another word.

I guess I am lucky to only have 2. They are my brother and sister-in-law. Brother got his final due; he died this spring.
