Time to put the tractors to bed

Time to cover the tractors. I guess I am finished for the year with my discing and mowing business. I had a good year, with no major break downs, other than having my dodge 3500 in the shop trying to get it to pass smog, and a couple batteries, and I got by ok. I already have my insurance for the new year, so I will be at it again. I'm thinking about not doing discing next year, as it's so hard moving my tractor around, but if the old chevy flat bed can do it another year I guess I can. Stan

I'm going to need the whole regiment to stay awake for another month. 200 acres corn to harvest yet, 26 acres replant beans and all the fall tillage and spread fertilizer. It will get done.

I can put the hay equipment away. Probably going to do that tomorrow. I was surprised to see a lot of hay on the ground today...fresh cut. Mid 40's all day. Anyway, the rest of the equipment is staying on deck for another month or so.

None of the beans have been cut and there's fertilizing and wheat to be drilled. I did start thinking about getting one of the tractors ready for snow. It isn't used much in the fall and I could go ahead and pull it apart to replace the hub that has needed it for a couple of years. I'm going to try doing without chaining it up this year - I finally got the tires on that one loaded.
