off topic-burning pine tree branches in a garden

I want to take down a 60 ft pine tree & want to burn tree branches in the garden - will this put to much acid in the soil?

I doubt it will make your soil too acidic. I've been burning oak leaves and branches in my garden since I moved in, and the soil test i pulled this spring showed a pH of 7.5. I have also burned a 30' blue spruce in it, so if anything, my pH has probably gone up.

Wood ashes are caustic so the pH would go up. However if you scoop up the ashes or spread them thinly it probably won't be a problem.

We have burned large brush piles and don't spread ashes and the next year the corn or beans are bigger and better in the spots where we burnt the piles.

The other posters stated the ashes were caustic and raised the pH, I would be happy with that here.

its not like you are going to plant a garden under a pine tree, then nothing will grow.
the ashes would be a benefit.
