ID my Ford Tractor

Trying this again. Sitting on my tractor.

Right Side; spark plugs, coil, distributor, oil fill tube.

Left side; exhaust, carberator, starter, Alternator, oil filter, power steering pump.

It has a 4 speed transmission.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you Mike

Seriously? You've got to do a lot better than that if you expect anything useful.

You've described about half the tractors ever built by several different manufacturers. Literally dozens of models fit that description.

Alternator and power steering pump may be red herrings, added later by the farmer.

You need to post a picture or provide more information. Some part numbers, maybe?

Well, I posted some pic.tures that apparently didn't post. And I
was hoping for a little help not sarcasm .

I would agree the alternator is a conversion but unless the
entire unit transmission, gear box, under carrage, engine &
power steering unit looks to be factory painted.
I have checked references I have found as to where ID
numbers can be found but nothing correlates with the info. I
have read.
It is kind of a basket case but I'll get it rebuilt.

It's a 1955 or newer Hundred Series of one sort or another.
The loader covers a lot of it up so it's a bit hard to tell if it is a 600/601/800/801 though they're all about the same tractor.
Did you look on Smith's site?
It will tell you where to look for the serial # so the fellows on the Ford board could ID it down to the day and shift it was built.

Without the pictures it was a pretty funny description....

With the pictures, the loader covers it up so much....

Like mentioned, it is a 600 series (smaller engine) or 800
series (bigger engine) most likely.

The number will be stamped into the cast iron bump under the
air cleaner, some are very light and you need to almost scrape
the paint if its been reprinted to notic them. It is there.......

The four end says it will be a x4x or lower model.

Like a 640 or 841 or some such.

Although I have checked several ID sites and have had my hands over every inch. The only bracketted numbers I have found came up nothing. But thank you for the site & I'll check it out.
Thank you for the help.

Grill looks to be 6x0/8x0/6x1. 8x1 grill was different.
Of course, tin can be changed, so not definitive.
Got a picture of the front axle?
There were some light industrial tractors in there too.

Thanks Royse;

Things a little hectic here this morning. I'll get some pictures and post them later today.

Appreciate the help. I'll look again for ID numbers. I'm getting tired returning ordered parts that don't quite fit. Even going with the idea of eliminating tractors that mine isn't hasn't helped much. It looks like a lot of things maybe add ons.

Thanks again.

I flipped them right side up (for PC users)
Looks like an adjustable ag front axle.
I don't see a fuel gauge in the tank.
Maybe those two will help narrow it down.
Someone more familiar with the exact model might
be able to tell for sure from the tank and/or rear end.
Fenders look x01, but again easily swapped.
The rear end doesn't look exactly like my 640.
Maybe an 840?

In the picture of the left side of your tractor, the hydraulic
cylinder is shown raised. Behind it to the left you see the
starter and to the right, two bolt holes.
There is a horizontal flat just above those two holes. That
is where your model and serial number would be found.

Hopefully I have found something".........

641
<>168040<>

A diamond shape on both ends of the 168040.

Also, I have seen what looks like a cover plate for the PTO. Do you know the name for this cover plate?

Thanks
Mike

I may have the ID. With the photos and numbers John Smith website says my tractor is a 641. 1962.

At least I have something to work with..

Thanks agin.
