The Mrs is far away this weekend.
So My dinner was kind of ad hoc.
I remember having these when we came home from school.
But forgot how good they are.
You gotta smash the bread down so the raisins get embedded and don't fall out.
I had one for dinner a couple of hours ago.
But I'm thinking another one would be just the right thing for a bedtime snack.

I love peanuts. It's been a while, but my son and I used to make sandwiches with peanuts, butter, and jelly on white bread.

We called them our peanut, butter, and jelly sandwiches. Say it quickly.

Please pass the peanuts.

Well I guess I've heard it all. What diversity. No body mentioned the glass of milk to go with 'em. I just eat JIF on wheat.

Not PBJ but related. When I was a kid, like 10 or so, I'd want a quick snack in the afternoons. Mustard and white bread was fast and good.

I prefer a sandwich of peanut butter on fried salmon patty surrounded by toasted wheat bread.

I thought the South had hit culinary bottom with souse-meat until my Northern friends introduced me to scrapple. After one bite, my friend asked if I would like some more. My reply - "If'n God told me to eat it, I would. But he didn't and I ain't!"

If you think mustard on white bread is good, you gotta try mustard on strawberry ice cream! Sounds awful, but I did it on a dare once and it really was pretty good.

peanut butter on white bread with vanilla frosting ain't bad either. (chuckle)

When we were kids, my sister and I would eat catsup sandwiches. Can't remember if it was preference or necessity.

I like peanut butter, jelly sandwiches too. But just one or the other at a time, not both. Also when putting butter on bread, nothing more. Don't like them mixed. I also like cold bean sandwiches, now and again. We used to take them to school when in grade school. We had plenty of beans, we grew yellow eye beans in the 50s.

And I thought mayonnaise sandwiches were about the bottom of the barrel! Ain't nothing wrong with a mayonnaise sandwich as long as it's flavored with a thick slice of Kentucky Border baloney in between.......but them concoctions you boys are talking about, makes me lose my appetite right quick! I always thought peanuts got poured in your bottle of Dr. Pepper and mustard was for killin' the taste of pickelloaf and rye bread and toast was what city folks ate.

Jelly got smeared on hot biscuits and honey was a treat. Peanut butter was something akin to survival food.....when there wasn't anything else, we'd force down some Jif. Mom always had plenty of vittles on the stove and rare was the time when we had to eat out of a jar. Things were different 50 years ago.

Now this has them all topped! one of my favorites.

Toast an english muffin. Spread peanut butter on both halves while it is still warm.

add a few slices of crispy bacon (if not crispy it will pull out of the slippery melted peanutbutter).

it is awesome. ymmmmmmm

Some of these combinations! A few of you might want to get a home test kit. Some gal may have reversed the charges! LOL!

I like PB and home-made raspberry jam best. Also like PB and jam on toast. Butter and sugar sandwiches bring back a smile. Fried bacon and cheese is pretty good.

Peanut butter, lettuce and bananas was always a favorite when we were kids, though I haven't had one in years. Co-worker always used to put potato chips in his bologna sandwiches, with plenty of mustard to hold 'em in place.

wow mark, i forgot about that, my dad used to make fried baloney sandwiches, ohhh....and then early sunday before church, he make scrambled eggs and fried baloney for breakfast. put the eggs and baloney on buttered toast, wow!!

Local burger joint sells a Jiffy Burger, burger with bacon, swiss cheese and pb. Very good and I make them all the time at home. Also I love a peanut butter and bananna sammich from time to time.

Tomato sandwich. Peanut butter on one slice, mayonaise or salad dressing on the other, a pile of ripe tomato, salt and pepper...without the salt and pepper.

Best of all? Pepper and Egg sandwich. No black pepper and egg, but green pepper and egg.
