At my wits end

2005 McCormick. 6 cylinder Perkins. At full throttle under load engine races an looses power like it is running out of fuel. Changed the fuel pump relay,no help. Changed the fuel lift pump, no help. checked all fittings on the draw side of injection pump, no help. changed the fuel filters twice, no help. Checked the fuel tank for water, found none. Looked at rubber fuel line, looks good. Do you think that fuel line could be collapsing inside? Or is it my injection pump? What should I try next?

Maybe your gas cap is plugged and you are pulling a vacuum.I had that happen on a diesel generator. In other words maybe you need a new gas cap.

Sounds like it is sucking air somewhere, I had one of the rubber "olives" on a connection from one of the fuel filters on my backhoe suck air, caused the perkins in it to do the same thing you are describing. It does not take much of an air bubble at all to affect them for some reason.

Hello flyng Belgian,

If the engine has an erratic idle as well, it is sucking air. A sight glass would be my first choice of tools. Or you can pressurize the fuel line from the tank side up to the pump. Or you can take all the connections apart, and check them one by one. Also check the fuel filter housing and head, if you have a spin on filter.
Its time consuming chasing a leak. Make sure the vent is working on the tank.

Guido.
