john deere A needle

ALL carb needles face UP !!! They have to because as the fuel bowl fill and the float goes UP so does the NEEDLE. Shutting OFF flow of gas.

"ALL carb needles face UP !!!"

reksuh44a, that's a very BROAD and IGNORANT commnent!

(And FALSE.)

al depends how u are holding the carb. the needle goes into the seat and that's all there is to it. why would you put the needle against the float? its called a needle and seat for a reason.

Bushy, Take note of the fact I did NOT disagree with his advice to the OP about a DEERE carb.

I disagreed (correctly) with his unnecessarily broad statement "ALL carb needles face UP !!!"

As a couple of examples, the needle in many Ford 2BBL carbs plus the needles in ALL Rocehester Quadrajets point DOWN, and carbs of several other makes/models (that I know of) are set up the same way. Add just those first two examples up, and you would get in the MILLIONS of units.

Now, how about apologizing to ME for your condescending reply???

If you will all read the TITLE of his reply, it says, and pretty clearly, JOHN DEERE "A" NEEDLE !!! So technically his "all inclusive " statement was correct for this specific post. Pretty plain to see that the word "all" referred to the title of the post.
