An amazing collection of new tracked vehicles being used by cops. The little one they call the Rook can lift a squad right up onto a roof.
They have at least one deployed in the Poconos looking for the trooper shooter.

I'm not real crazy about cops having a lot of stuff like that. Many people on here are avid supporters of Amendment II gun rights. What good will a gun be against "tyranny" if the tyrants can basically nuke us?

That's the point of the Feds sending military grade stuff to the locals... so we don't get out of hand!

Cool toys. Do the police need a tank in your area? I personally don't agree with no-knock warrants and SWAT teams. If the police have those nice of toys, seems like they could cut taxes a wee bit.

yes my thought exactly. Who among us would go out and buy a cool new tool (tank/armored vehicle) and not find a reason to use it. I don't care how many cans of beans or rounds of 7.62 you have stocked up when the cops have tanks you do what they say.

I agree in theory, but having been in a situation where I was the cop and we were supposed to go and arrest people that had 30 and 50 cal machine guns, grenades and lots of other stuff that we didn't have, it seems sort of different to me. When we were chasing a cop killer around the western part of our state we all had to bring our own rifles because the job just had shotguns and this guy was sniping us from way outside shotgun range.

Some people would have Americas police toting a stick and whistle or carrying their 1 bullet in their pocket ala Barney Fife. The problem isn't the police becoming militarized, it's the plain as day fact our nation is sliding into the cess pool as far as the limits people will go to. We have drug cartels moving north, terrorists moving west and a nation that thinks "where's mines?!!". What does anyone think will happen?
