Happy First Shot Day to my fellow Texans. Oct.2,
1835, the first shots of the Texas Revolution were
fired. Your Texas History fact for the day.

At least the flag is flying correctly.

As a native Texan. I have often wondered. If all the people claiming to have had a relative at the Alamo. Really did have. How long would the Mexican army have lasted.

No relative at the Alamo or San Jacinto but my 3X great grandfather, David E. Lawhon was the official printer for Gen. Sam Houston. The story is, he wanted to fight but Houston said his printing press was more powerful. Ufortunately, he did not get to print the Declaration of Independence

Thanks for the headsup. I grew up in Pasadena, TX. and visited the San Jacinto Monument and battlefield, plus the Battle Ship Texas many times. Matter of fact, it was a favorite place for picnics with one of my early girl friends.
