Well the Wife was out mowing with the Ford 640, and after about an hour or so she comes walking back (That's Never A Good Thing) and She says the mower twisted as she was turning around at the end of a row.
And with a perfect blank look on my face I said it did What?????

Well it turns out that we lost the pin in the 3PT lift arm and when she turned at the end of the row the cutter road up onto the rear tire, She stopped it quick and thankfully she was not hurt.
And NO we could not find the pin, I will most likely find it with my hay cutter next spring.

My daughter has a magnet on small wheels that you can roll over an area and pick up nails, etc. It's about 18" wide. Shouldn't take over a couple days to run it over that field and find that pin. LOL Seriously, I am glad your wife wasn't hurt. That shows that she pays attention to the work at hand, because we all know how fast something can ride up a tractor wheel. Just throw in an extra word of thanks tonight when you say your bedtime prayers.

At least your wife does pay attention, at least at that moment. Mine was mowing pasture with lawnmower (she's logged more hours with it in pasture than it's logged in lawn) when she stopped to talk with me and I asked her "how long has that squelling noise been there?", she responds with "ummm, a while I think". A blade spindle was 'screaming' for grease. Last time I attempted to mow lawn I noticed not cutting right. Turns out when she gets off she steps on raised deck. Now I get to replace lift cables as well as spindle. GRRRR!!!
I drove her truck and asked how long brakes been like this? Looked at me like I was a idiot and asked 'What's wrong with brakes? Yup, a month later I was replacing blown brake line in a snowstorm!
To her benefit she notices EVERY scratch a horse gets (and there's 11 of them out there).

There's linch pins yuo can sometimes find that have to be squeezed together to releazse. THey're a trouble to use, but they don't get loose or fall out.

At least she was watching what she was doing. I know a lot of people (men and women both) that never look back.

Dad had that happen many years ago. After that, he connected a small chain to the lower links and to the pins. When trying to attach something, you have the pins within reach and never lost another in the field. As a safety measure, he also had at least 3 more sets in the tractor tool box.

Man, she was lucky, good thing she pays attention. Mine would be the type to never look back, first assuming she would even get on it.

I lost one of the wheels on my finish mower, the clip holding the thing on came off and when I raised the mower up at some point it dropped off. Got one pass down the next pasture until I noticed the mower wasn't sitting right then saw the wheel was gone. I retraced my path and found the wheel and all the spacers sitting in a corner of the previous field, even found the clip a few feet away. Needless to say I check it more often now. Would do some damage to run over that wheel with the mower!

Holy cow, I can't even get mine to gather eggs. Those
chickens might peck out your eye, you know.

Actually I do get some help mowing as long as the newer cub
cadet is full of fuel. One day I heard a horrible racket from
across the yard. It appears you can't hear a bent blade with
your iPod up loud. Running over a tree stump doesn't do those
blades any good.

 That is just too funny.
I have to admit My Other Half is a special lady, when we bale hay she runs the hay baler with the IH2500 and the Old IH is anything but quiet  I have tried to get the Wife to wear hearing protectors but she refuses because with them on she can't hear the baler over the tractor engine.
And she runs the baler better then I seem to be able to..... The Da#$% thing ties like a champ when she is running it, I try and it misses half the bales.
She was even out this weekend helping me stack hay bales.
YUP SHE is a KEEPER!!
