Well I'm curious how it is elsewhere, as its been dry here for 2 years or so, no need to rehash why, but I've waited, looked when I could for Federal .308 150 grain in power shok, and .22 WMR, obviously rim fire is still a problem now.
So as usual, I reluctantly went into the Walmart I can see from the kitchen window, (used to be an ag field) looking for a boot dryer, checked the ammo case, and eureka, 2 boxes of the above .308, its been years since I got it off the shelf there. No boot dryer though, and no rimfire. Did see most calibers in stock though.
Today I went to Dick's sporting goods, to get a boot dryer, finally.. will have dry shoes, on the inside, darned things just don't dry out at night, even with the insert out. So I check the ammo counter and aisle, plenty of hunting ammo, lots of 30-06. Finally, they had .22 WMR !!! No limit on it, but I did not hoard, got what I needed, enough for quite some time, now I can sight that darned thing in and not worry about what I used, it' mainly for woodchucks anyway.
Has it come back in your area ?
I always think back when you just went to the store, the gun shop, got what you needed to have on hand, knowing its always there, still hard to believe, this situation, thankfully its improved a little.
