Dang Loonies..........

Ya'll probably heard about the idiot that started a fire in an air control equipment room at O'Hare Airport in Chicago and then tried (unsuccessfully) to commit suicide. It raised hell with flights at both O'Hare and Midway, and elsewhere across the country. Might be several weeks before repairs are made and things get back to normal.

Our daughter had plans to fly to Chicago this weekend to hang out with old college friends. (Yuppies can do that). Her flight Saturday morning from Omaha made it OK and on time. She found out yesterday her flight this morning from Chicago back to Omaha would be cancelled. Also the next one, and maybe none running all day.

Since she has to be at work in Omaha tomorrow morning, she did the only sensible thing, she rented a car and as this is written she's somewhere on the road between Chicago and Omaha.

Hope she gets compensation for her return airline ticket. If it ain't one dang thing, it's another.

It's gettin' to the point where I am almost afraid to go to the grocery store! Every time I see any news there are reports about some nut shooting up a place or something else. At least most of them save the taxpayers the expense of giving them a trial.

With everything going on these days, if I couldn't drive my own vehicle I would stay home. The risk of public transportation seems to get worse every day, especially airline travel. Bus accidents seem to be more frequent now than a few years ago. Probably too much mary-juw-wanna?

There isn't anywhere else that I have to be, so I'll just stay local.

I just thought that he was refering to the fact that us CDN's are a bit loony... ;>)

Actually dont mind the dollar being down, we export to US.

Have you seen the latest trend where it seems that the attackers are going into malls with knives, or just beating on random people with whatever is at hand? It's been happening for a few months, from what I have been able to tell, and everywhere from China to Tennessee.

That's the very reason I carry open whenever possible and appropriate(legal in NC), and am permitted to carry concealed when it's not. The last thing I want is to be unarmed when on the receiving end of any kind of attack....and woe be unto the idiot that 'brings a knife to a gun fight'....LOL

What do you expect the number of bus accidents to do when the DOT won't inspect them.

Arkansas or Missouri did that about 12-13 years ago. They pulled in every bus that went by the scales and inspected them. I think the ones put out of service for major safety violations exceeded 70%.

They were informed they were to never do that again.

Friend and his wife flew to Chicago on Thursday, to watch his alma mater (U. of Chicago) play football on Saturday. Opposing team (from Oregon) was to come in on Friday, and never made it. So as he said, "It was the most expensive museum visit ever."

Speaking of nut bars, did they catch the idiot that shot the the Pa state trooper in eastern Pa,was on vacation when heard about the shooting but didn't hear if he was caught.

450 to 500 miles straight across I-80, the only major cities along the route were Davenport and Des Moines. That should have been an nice easy drive. I hope she could relax and enjoy the scenery along the way.

My wife had to fill me in on that guy, cause I have been too busy, to watch the news. She told me that this guy is a cross between Rambo, and Carlos Hathcock. Steph told me that apparently the Pa police and other authorities are afraid of this guys abilities, and long range accuracy. I think that they are spooked!
