Did not want to hijack an earlier post but, who proudly displays the American flag on their property or farm?

Always have, Always will. This is for the American People.

My heart flutters when I see the flag a flying.
I'm just as patriotic as can be, but the flag doesn't fly over the land of the free as our founding fathers left us.

Sadly I don't have one here at the house, YET. That said years ago I worked for a concrete company who had me put a flag poles on top of several of their silos. The one I was particularly proud of was on one of their main plants and was visible from the interstate. I used to love driving down the road and seeing the flag flying proudly, for every one passing to see, on the pole that I put up. What a sense of accomplishment..... Unfortunately the plant closed down and the flag is now gone....but every time I pass and see the pole standing there I can still remember how great it looked.....

Have one up here around the clock. Last about three months and then give old one to the Legion post to dispose of. Granddad, Dad, myself and brother all Veterans.

50 foot and 90 foot Harvestore silos were ordered with our Flag, plus an illuminated one by the house, courtesy of my family for Father"s Day.

We do 24-7 , reminds me, I need to change it. On list for tomorrow. I also have one right above my computer desk, it, has only 48 Stars. Reminds of my father and all those that fought in WW2.
I have another 48 star flag that I sometimes display on my 1941 9-N. joe

Always have a one tractor parade on major holidays and other special occasions.

Always display the flags for my father and father-in-law.

Flag pole next to house, flag flies 24/7. Pole started as a fold down TV antenna tower, 30 ft tall. Dusk to dawn yard light was added, then flag pulley/rope below the light. Visible to boaters on lake from one side, cars on the road from the other.
Rope was broken when I moved in here 12 years ago. Previous occupant tried to pull the rpoe out, knot at end got stuck in pulley, they hadn't planned how to get new rope in or change bulb in light. Took 10 minutes to fold the pole so top was at ground level.

We do, although I have to move it as the base is about useless. I want to get a USMC flag to display on the Marine Corps b-day, Nov 10, and a Gasden (Don't Tread On Me) to display to state my position on things.

I'd really like to put a flag pole and lanyard at the top of the 80 plus foot silo I have, but my days of climbing are about over.

I love my country, I fear my gov't.

50 star out on the roadside pole, two folded in cases and a 48 star in the house. God Bless the USofA. When I am dead and gone, I hope someone will have a one folded in case in rememberance of those that wrote a "blank check" to the USofA.

We alway's have the flag raised in our yard. sometimes takes a beating from the high winds, which reminds me the flag should be replaced with a new one. Usually have an extra flag in storage prepared for replacement. Cheers, Murray

I fly "Old Glory" 24/7 in front of my house. I have a light with a photo-eye to illuminate it at night.

We have one on a 20' pole by the house. The 3 Oliver tractors all have 2 flags on the front that stay there all the time except when I'm planting and need to see clearly ahead. Chris

Yup, flew mine 24/7 lighted at night, the whole nine yards, until 2008. Figured I was desicrating the flag by flying it under the current situation.

Moderators: feel free to poof this if you feel it's over the line, but that's how I feel about it.

PLUS a few red Farmalls to top it all off (Been there seen that). You're my kinda guy. Dont forget the flags and solar lights for Flywheelers, we cant let the "Brother in law" get the better of us......

Dern Wisconsin folks, all they do is drink beer, eat cheese n brats, watch the Packers and Nascar" then as Dianne (believe it was her??) said to me "So, whats the problem" lol works for me a Hoosier

I had no problem runnin with yall (for a few days at least, I'm only a Lightweight) all I did was take an extra blood pressure pill and a couple aspirins each night before we headed out to the local health food vegetarian (Yeah right) establishments!!!!!!!! Then the first wife had her cell phone out and dialed 9 1 to have it ready just in case I overdosed on grease n beer wooooooooo hooooooooo lol

Every day, on my right shoulder, just over the 1st Cav patch. Its been a long rewarding haul, but I am looking forward to retiring soon

We do as well. The one up now is starting to look tattered so thanks for posting. While I am at the lap top I'll order a new one. The way the wind blows here it takes about four new ones a year If I want them to look good.

Dick, I too was changing my flag often till I received a tip from another veteran. A few days before you replace your flag, run some cheap super glue over the "out end" seams, and let it dry. I now replace my flag once a year on Memorial Day. It gets a little frayed on the edge, but nothing disrespectful. Hope this helps you.
Dale

Thanks! I ordered my new flag when I got out of YT. I will try the glue thing. I have a tall flag pole and use a four by six flag. We used to buy bigger five by eight flags but they got kinda expensive and didn't last any longer.

John glad you had a good time. Just to let you know I added another red one since you were here, and as Dianne says SO WHATS THE PROBLEM. Just got home from church and breakfast. Went to a old watering hole with new owners, and man what a feed. I may have to find a few barley pops to settle my stomach down so I can take a nap.

Bob

No problem in consuming some adult barley soda pops on the Sabbath, after all its your day of rest right? and nuttin better then a Sunday afternoon nap, I've had two today lol. The grandkids were here and they drove me to drink, must have put 200 miles on my Golf Cart.......

Mine flies off the front deck.
It got caught in this 4th of July pic a few years ago. Hot, dry
year that year. Thought I'd lose all my grass, but I didn't. :)

Talked the QuarteRmaster on the USS Constellation in to running this one up over the ship and back down in the Tonkin Gulf during combat ops. Flown only on military occasions and half staff days. KMART flag the rest of days.
Just a side note. I learned from the Senior Chief that day that when the ships flags get tattered on the end they have the riggers cut and sew the tight. They can repeat that until the "bars" are no shorter than the "stars".
