Massey Ferguson 1100

Recently we were given MF 1100 1969 with a
Perkins engine. This is the tractor my father
drove on the farm for my cousins. It was
sitting on the rock pile for 9 years. When we
got it home we changed all the filters, oiled
the cylinders, and steam cleaned it. We have it
running but can"t get the hydraulic system to
pick up fluid. Thinking back we should have not
changed the filter until we knew if there was a
problem. When it was parked it worked. Any help
would be appreciated. It would be nice to see
dad drive this again. We got all the manuals.

On the floor just infront of the seat there is a button that when pulled up lets the tractor start with no hydraulic pressure. Just push it down once the tractor starts to load up the system.

We were aware of the button on the floor for
starting. We have pushed in the button and run the
tractor. We are afraid to run the tractor for long
periods of time not wanting to damage the pump.

There is a screen in the bottom of the transmission around the oil pickup. Drain the oil and the screen comes out from the bottom. If that is not the issue, Could be the charge pump is bad.
