Honda ATV has oil reminder.

My 2009 Rancher showed a "change oil code" yesterday at 859 miles. 600 mile interval. Sure enough , I looked in my records and I did the first change at 259 instead of the recommended 200. Guess I did the reset right.

Mine doesn't have that. I has an idiot light that is supposed to let you know if the oil level is low.

I change it when I get around to it.

210. I sprayed 100 gals through the sprayer today and that was 14 miles worth. 10 Acres.

Gene,

If that is an older Honda, you may have an oil light that shows when the oil is overheated, not low.

My TRX300 4x4 would make the light go on if I was pulling a heavy trailer slowly and the air cooled engine got too hot. My ace Honda mechanic told me that I should change the oil after anytime that the light had come on, as the oil was hot enough to break it down chemically.

I eventually traded for a water cooled Honda so I could pull my trailer.

Ours get an oil change in winter and topped off as needed. All Honda's.
