You can't just install a live pto, the closest thing would be a hand clutch on one axle, and I don't know if it's available for a C.

Not unless you had one made, and that would cost a mint.
There is no rotating power behind the clutch that would allow access for a PTO.
There is no real provision to get power from the front of the engine either. Trade tractors. 300 series or larger will do it, as will newer tractors not in the direct C linage. Jim

You can add an anti-over run clutch to the PTO. It will let you put the tractor in gear with the PTO turning and keep the rotary mower drive train from pushing the tractor.

thanks for the advice. the tractor has been in the family since it was driven off the showroom floor. Just trying to make it easier to use.
