ANR/TransCanada twenty two inch diameter underground natural gas pipeline with 700 psi of pressure ruptured & exploded just prior to 2:00am Tuesday morning at the farm. If this would have happened at 2:00pm, I may have been in that field with the help harvesting potatoes at that time and might not be here now writing about it.
Blessed & thankful......

They are putting in a new 36" natural gas pipeline angling across our county--about 30 miles in Branch County alone. I guess the good thing is if it leaks it's easy to find--just look for the glow in the sky from about 30 miles away. Maybe better than the Kalamazoo river oil pollution that's taken 4 years to clean up.

I was told yesterday that plans are made to install a 42 inch high pressure gas line next to the 22 & 30 inch ones that are already there. The 22 inch is the one that ruptured Tuesday morning. It's been in the ground over 50 years.

I remember when that pipeline blew south of Alma. You could see smoke all the way down here like it was just a few miles away. Seems to me somebody hooked that one with something.

There were some that blew up in the 80's east of Hamilton and they cut a big hole in the ground. I lived about 12 miles away and it rattled the windows. A couple years ago there was a high pressure one west of Dorr off 142 nd ave and it melted the siding off the houses almost 1/4 mile away. It did a good job of clearing the path threw the woods

Glad no one was hurt. I think a bunch of us should make a pot of gravy and head up there to help clean up the mess.

Ivan; I remember that fire. Saw the smoke 10 miles away. Areas grown up to brambles right now. It's about 3 or 4 miles from our house.

Alma pipeline, is that the one that ruptured near Laingsburg? I remember that one- Mom was driving bus for Laingsburg Schools and had a field trip that night they were up at Pewamo-Westphalia high school and saw the fire, kept expecting to see a barn fire in a mile or so. When they stopped at McDonalds they heard it was a gas line and someone told them all of Laingsburg had blown up so it was an anxious drive the rest of the way wondering what was left of their homes.
