Tennessee didn't get this one

A Chinese company that makes aluminum wheels bought the failed solar panel factory here. Said they'll hire 300 people. Better luck next time Tennessee and Kentucky. We have to win one once and a while. lol
New jobs

The proof is in the pudding, wait and see if they follow though with the number of jobs they promise. A Chinese furniture manufacturer moved into Danville VA with the promise of several hundred jobs, enough of a promise that they got several million dollars up front. To date they have either two or three on the payroll, say they are changing product lines and will eventually start hiring. In the mean time, the city is requesting a 100% refund of the front money due to the company not hiring the promised number of people by the agreed upon deadline.

I hope your situation turns out better.

We told them to go on up to New York, kinda getting behind down here on building new factories. LOL How you been R?

Busier than a one armed paper hanger. Trying to finish the last of the hay so I can start filling silo.

Right in the middle of shelling corn and starting to sow wheat and lots of trucking.. Pretty busy here

I heard that they're wanting to put the rail back in they ripped out up there too. Said there's a big pot ash deposit between belding and greenville and that was a proposed way to get it out. I'll believe it when I see it , but you never know. The area could be booming!

Hadn't heard about the potash. There's a big gravel pit there. Maybe they hit it when they were digging the gravel out?

Similar thing happened here, Japanese firm built building, hired and trained people, but never had a customer. Lasted two years, folded and left an empty building for over 10 years. Finally a local firm took it over and is expanding. Greenville has had it's share of problems, hope it all works out. I wonder if Michigan now being a "Right to work" state had anything to do with it?

That's a good number of jobs. Ought to do good things for the local economy even if they hire a bunch out of GR.

We'll wait and see. Lots of promises haven't come through here in Montcalm county. Was talking with a salesman for a commercial food service company. He says things are beginning to look up around the area but not in Montcalm county. They're taking over the Solar Olvonic plant which was supposed to be our savior according to Ms Granholm - Never panned out even with much financial incentives. Will this be different?
