Second one is a GMC Samson I believe. Other two I have no idea. The first one does kind of resemble the early 4 wd drive tractors by Massey.

I strongly think the second tractor is a samson- they looked like that, but it seems this example is missing a little tin.

2nd one is a Samson "Sieve Grip". It is missing the sheet metal, the radiator and a few other random parts.

Second one is a General Motors Samson minus it's sheetmetal.

A little bit of History: Samson tractors were originally produced by the Samson Tractor Works of Stockton, California. In 1918 General Motors bought the company to try to compete against the Fordson Tractors who at the time were monopolizing the market.

A restored 1916 model Samson Sieve-Grip was sold at auction for $26,000. in 1998 .

(History information obtained from: "Antique American Tractor and Crawler Value Guide" by Terry Dean & Larry L. Swenson)

I have read about the first one. Field mule or mechanical horse or some such. You would sell this to a farmer who had all horse drawn machines and this is "steered" like a horse with the reins! They sold for quite a few years.

anybody picked up on the Sampson, having its main competition back in the day parked right behind it

(quoted from post at 04:44:47 09/15/14) 1- some kind of name with 'rein drive' in it comes to my mind.

2- Samson Sieve Grip

3- yuba

1st one is a Harris Power Horse. Also, the yellow tractor next to the Power Horse is a Minneapolis-Moline.

Fordson drove a lot of tractor manufacturers out of the market. Did Ford have 50 percent of the market?
