I have a D-282 in a 660 international and I didn"t have the air cleaner on and when it rained water got in and it hydro locked. Does anyone know how to get the water out?

Take the injectors out and turn it over. After you have injectors out you can dry out cylinder out by blowing air down the injector holes. Try to get as far into injector as possible. Good luck

Take compressed air and blow all the water out you can. Pour some antomatic transmission oil and pentrating oil down cyclinders and let it set a couple days Then try to rock tractor back and forth while trans is in hi gear or take starter off and try to turn flywheel with a bar back and forth. How long was tractor setting?

one of the valve stems might be rusted if it went in the intake. It takes very little rust to freeze a stem up. You may have to pull the valve cover and push each valve down to make sure they're free.

Justin the other poster are probably a lot smarter than I but I am thinking that d282 injector is in a precup with a little bity hole to the cylinder. Doubt if removing the injectors will do it. I would remove the valve cover and try and hold the valves open. Remove the starter where you can take a large screwdriver and work slowly back and forth on the flywheel you might get it to turn over one time then you are home free. Spraying any thing like wd40 down the exaust would not hurt also. Those old engine are notorious for cracked heads which leads to white smoke when cranked which sometimes goes away after the engine warms up.

You can get by with just removing the glow plugs rather than the whole injector, either will work to relieve a hydro locked cylinder.

If you have a TA the engine will not turn backwards unless the TA lever is pulled back to release the direct drive clutch.
