Seems that A&E is cancelling Longmire. Should have figured since I liked it. News reports are that it was the #2 rated show on A&E but the audience was too old for underwriters.

Really Thats a good show.
I LOVED that show.....and I'm the old guy demographic that I'm sure the trendy ad types hated. Old trucks....old cars....45 auto sidearm.....Winchester model 94 long gun....scenary like no other show on television.....great plots.....great charactors.....struggle between good and evil.....oh yeah....and I LOVED deputy (what's her name)???

I'm 32 and really enjoy the show. I sure hope those reports are a couple seasons premature. I think it's the closest thing to a western we will probably ever see again.

It might have more to do with commercials on Longmire cost less than half of what they do on shows like Mad Men and A&E does not own any portion of Longmire so there is no profit to be made on any selling of reruns.

As a younger guy who enjoys this show, I am bummed. Though I hear they may shop it to another network -- so don't lose hope yet.
Hadn't heard that the show was canceled, but then again I don't watch much of anything but the shows that I like. Regardless, it was one of the shows that I really liked, and I'm only 46. Heck even my 11 year old daughter liked it. Sounds to me like their test panel to find out the median age of those watching was a bit too small, or the results a little too skewed. Like another post said, it was about as close to a western as anything we could have on now days. In fact Longmire always kind of reminded me of Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke. It's a shame to hear its being canceled.

Vic (Victoria) Morelli I believe was her name. Great actress and not hard to look at. LOVED that show. Too bad it only ran for a few episodes a season. Hopefully another network will pick it up as it was about the best show on TV.
