Tree Puller

Took a couple of photos. in the first, you can see the black dirt hole were the tree was pulled from. The second is near the pile.

Thorn Apple (Hawthorn) would still be nasty as they get bushy at the bottom 3 feet. I really like it. Jim

I like it. Looks good. Do you have to rock the tractor back and forth at all or does the 3pt have enough power to lift it if the soil is wet?

I am getting ready to build something similar, I am going to use it to lift balled/burlapped trees after I dig them. Basically a claw.

Yep, it's a two man thing. Pulled 248 7 foot cedars from and acre and a half in little over 5 hours. Never did a double wrap. Pulled a few four footer.small one 2 inch diameter trunk. Transplanted those with a tree spade. north of the house. Now they are 12 footers. Shaping them for Xmas trees.

It slides down snug against the tree. No wrapping and never slips and inch. Pull a 2 inch trunk out with it.Like a steel hangmans noose.

I like yours and Gordo's. Only problem that I see with both of them - all of the trees that I want to pull have limbs (with thorns) all the way to the ground.

It lifted this one out. Larger and you do have to rock back and forth a bit. This one will tear up the bark pretty good so don't know how it would do on trees you wanted to save. Maybe some heavy belting inside surface of the clamp?
