IH serial numbers on hay wagon

I bougyt a hay wagon that was logo'd IH. When I tore it apart to paint it I found a serial number tag. Where would I find out when It was built??? I know it has to be at least 50 years old. Thanks, Henry

International Harvester has their historical archives at the University of Wisconsin online. I spent a little time at this online archive a couple of years ago when I bought an IH running gear with spoke wheels. I found the original color scheme in the archives. I just tried looking again at the IH-U of W site but got lost in all of the detail. You can go there online and spend as much time as you want and you might find the serial number although I did find an IH memo that did away with serial numbers on equipment in 1962 except for a half-dozen or so products. Go to google and type in international harvester archives. Should be fun.
