3 Point Tree Puller

Built a tree puller from scrap that was laying around. Will pull a 5 inch tree. Brother needs to remove trees from CRP so thought I would help him out. Way cheaper than a dozer....

Impressive! What thickness metal did you use? I have been wanting to try something like this a as I have a lot of what we call chinaberry trees and they seem to multiply faster than I can get rid of them. I wish someone would develope a use for them as a crop and then they would all die!!! Sid

My Aunt use to gather the berries, clean and dye them. She made necklaces and sold them to tourists.

I like to see how it works on a JD 4010 on a very big tree. A five inch tree is pretty good size.

I have pulled trees with the quick hitch and a chain. It dies not take a very big tree to stand your tractor up in the air. I was using a JD 4455 MFWD and about a three inch tree was the limit that I could pull by lifting and pulling it. These where Water Maple and Hickory. I know some others would pull easier.

I would like to see a pic of how it works.

Don't think it would work on my little Jubilee.

Definately take something with a lot of lifting force and something to hold the front end down.

Some trees with a long tap root like walnut may pose a challenge.

I always like building something from used parts.

You have a Cool Idea.

Have a roll guard so they can't get to me. They hit it first. When releasing, I lower the 3 pt to drag the roots as I back up to the pile. This tips the tree back.

Ran into some trees that are tough. The ground moves under the tractor so the roots must spread out a bit. Had to pull forward and backwards a bit to get it out. (While raising the 3 pt)
