National weather forecast shows storms in the
area. Tennis ball sized hail reported. Hope you
get needed rain and skip the hail. Mostly clear in
the SE, scattered light rain, none for me in SC so
far.

Started raining here this morning. Grass had quit growing out in the pastures. Needing the rain bad here in St. James, MO.
Don't cuss the rain.

We did get some rain with the last system that passed through, but the humidity was 90% or higher, mild temperatures at least, you can see on the map, the humid air pushed way up into Canada, nice germination weather LOL !

We got another 1/2 inch of rain this early morning to go with the inch we got last week.

This will help the beans fill the pods as well as add some depth to kernel on the corn.

We have also had some good heat to develop the crop.

I didn't even wake as the storm went through this morning. It did blow a little, I see one of my wives plants are upset on the deck.

We got 2 1/2 inches last night plus 60 mile an hour winds, lasted about an hour, thank goodness for no hail. Corn is standing amazing well, some down and some leaning. We've had over a foot of rain since the beginning of August. I woulda' gladly sent some of this on.

Got just a tad over an inch over night and it is still looking like it will rain some more and all I can say is let it rain let it rain as long as it does not give use 5 plus inches in a day. Would love to get a 2nd cutting of hay but the only way that will happen is if we get enough rain to make it start growing again

This side of the Enoree had a little shower yesterday morning. Rushed to get in the car to go to church, and once we pulled out of the driveway it stopped. Hadnt had any rain since one day week before last, and not much then. Yards turning brown, but the soybeans are turning yellow, so it wont be but a few more weeks and they will be ready, hopefully. Clouding up as I speak, so Ill probably spend the rest of the day putting up whats left of my little garden, and maybe get a quick nap in before the BBQ tonight at my ma in laws. Hows gardens over your way been this year? Lots of folks around here been pretty weak, and the local farmers markets were slow this year. Hadnt made it to the on in Woodruff this year, just too busy at times.

Send the hail my way. I haven't had a good hail storm since 1998. My 16 year old shingles are still looking good. I play the odds and win most of the time. The insurance company has replaced most of my roofs. I always park vehicles inside, especially when hail if forcasted.

So send the hail to Terre Haute, please. I will park inside.

In my part of NWIA we had a dry period a month ago where the beans and corn in the sandy spots were turning yellow. Then the showers started up again. We haven't had an excess of rain but it does keep showering on us regularly. Now instead of the crops suffering from dry weather, the constant moisture and humidity is bringing on disease. We are seeing gray leaf spot in the corn and sudden death in the beans. I don't have hardly any sudden death in the beans but some farmers have it pretty bad. My corn does have some gray leaf but I haven't walked very far into the corn to see how much. I HATE walking through that sweaty jungle. LOL Jim

Buddy of mine lives West of Steelville. Retired game warden. We are down in your area two or three times a summer.

Bowhunted on the Woods land just East of the Springs.

Gardens have been great here on the North side of the river. Corn's all gone, of course, and beans have almost quit bearing after good yields. Peas now need picking every day.
