I didn't want to step on Walt's post below but it's been 2 weeks and a day since my best friend and partner for 44 yrs was buried. Just trying to get a handle on everything and keep going is a real struggle sometimes. Reading the replies from those that have BTDT is an encouragement that there is a reason to keep going, right now my world is just upside down , thanks for listening

Take your time to grieve and remember her. Try to keep busy doing things so you do not dwell on your loss 24/7. With time the pain will lessen and you will cherish the memories without feeling the deep pain of her passing.

You where together for 44 plus years. It will take time to get to where the pain is not over whelming.

The main thing is to keep busy. Be sure to engage friends just as you did before. Remember that the situation is awkward for them so you may need to take the first step.

Keeping busy is good. its been 28 mouths now. we were marry 47 years it gets better with time but you will never forget her.
