830 Case PTO

Just got this tractor and the pto will not stop
turning after I kicked it out of gear. What's up
with that?

Possibly the pto plates are warped. We had an 830 that did that. We had to shut it off to hook up the pto. Might be worth posting on the Case forum as well.

Our 530 doesn't stop spinning either

I know some of the MM models like the M5s do the same. I have a couple that are that way. On them most of the time was because of the heavy oil used in them that hangs up on the plates of the pto clutch so it drags and turns the pto shaft.

I have a book I can scan for you, showing how to adjust the brake. I rebuilt the one in my 830. Lets just say it doesn't slip anymore, and it starts good.

Did my 730 this spring. Acted same as yours when we got it. Had warped disc. In my opinion book is hard to follow but not that bad of a job with a little advice from others.
