3 point on JD 60

I added an aftermarket 3 pt on my JD 60 tractor. When the cultivator or bush hog pulls hard the one side raises up (enough to bend the center rod). How can I remedy this?

It almost sounds to me the draft is raising it I do not know much about john deeres but that is what it sounds like

What center rod are we talking about? The top link? If that's what's bending I'd say you have it adjusted out too far.

Please explain further re; "one side raises up". If you mean the rockshaft is lifting independently on one side - you have a problem.

Bob: no; the one side of the cultivator or bush hog lifts up and the lifting arms swing enough to let the cultivator come out of the ground and bend the top link.

Sounds like Wilamayb has your answer. I have an 801 hitch with a self made third point bracket. There are attachment points for a triangular 'sway bar'. See pic. I made my own fittings/pieces and the sucker is dead ridged. HTH

There is ,in fact a factory set of brackets/arms/triangulation for the 800-801 hitch, There is a guy in WA state that has a whack of that stuff, but I lost his contact info.

So how did you pull a mounted plow for the first 43 years without using the float function? Maybe you had a trailer plow?

My 70LP has a true three point hitch with the top bracket manufactured by "Saginaw Hitch" iirc. There is or was one other company that makes something similar. The bracket is much higher and provides the proper higher geometry for the top link. SCV function maybe possible with some minor tinkering.
