Big guy broke down so had to break out old faithful for a run at 'er. Took me 4 acres to get the plow leveled out tho.

Those 1066s are still one he!! of a tractor!

OHHHHH SHINY moldboards ! I love the look of a nice mirror clean board complements of mother earth. Around here nobody plows anymore mostly no till or disk and plant.

Worst thing we have with wheat on wheat is that old cheat. What happened to the 88 ? Not that fan bearing I keep warning you about?

Plows sure look nice all shined up! Looks like some rain way off in the distance. I may have asked before but what part of Nebraska do you call home?

Naw, not the tractor.

I had borrowed a quick tach hitch. The latch didn't work right on one side. It jumped out and snapped the other side right off.

Guess I bought that hitch. :>(

Only good news on the day was that I had this old sister in the field within an hour.

Right up in the corner! I thought of applying for the Nebraska Dept. of Roads a time or two, they have some openings in that part of the state.

That looks like a clean old 10. . .one of my favorite IH tractors of the day. Nice roll over plow too. Looks like you put new cover boards on recently?

The old IH's like that are tough to beat. We can't get the moldboards quite that shiny here in my neighborhood. Sometimes the plow won't even scour no matter what we do. We can get a shine but not like the shine on your plow. Ten or fifteen miles west of here in the more wind blown soils plows do shine up nice like yours. Jim

Allen I always loved to plow. You can look back at the end of the day and see that you have done something. Also takes some skill to get a plow running right.

I always liked an Oliver moldboard plow. At least the 565 plows. They just would lay the ground over so SMOOTH.

I have a JD plow but it leaves the ground rougher.

I cut my teeth on a 966. That beast was as reliable as they come. I always wished we had the 10. When we finally got one it was a 1086. Imagine my instant love.

No,

They shine up just like the bottoms. Got two broken ones on the right throw side. Can sure see it in the plowed ground too.

What is the advantage of moldboard plowing over disc and plant? Can you afford to give up that moisture?
