Took my wife to the eye Dr for evaluation and eye checked. It has been over 6 years of non driving including the tractor to haul poo. As my eyes were, before the surgery, I wouldn't have went to the mailbox the way they were, let alone, have my wife as a passenger. My son did all the driving before the surgery. I even went for license renewal and passed with bad eyes, just lucky I guess. Still all in all I didn't drive cause I didn't trust myself. I might drive the tractor for additional loads of horse poo to keep compost current and I have reliance in my ability to put a vehicle on the road.
At 79 yrs old I'm looking out 25 yr old eyes or so it seems, what beautiful colors and definitive objects. Thank the Good Lord for the skill he has instilled in humans along with the kindness mannerisms. What a gift. I don't know how much longer I have with these eyes, but I am appreciating the time I have to use them.
I again wish to thank those of you who encouraged me to have the surgery. I can now be one who will encourage others who are reluctant or afraid to have it done. Warmest regards,
LOU

As I said before, my dad said it was a night and day difference., literally. He had darkened, blurred vision. Once he had his cataracts removed he could see enough to enjoy hunting again. Which he loves. I know diabetes hits the eyes hard and he still does't have great vision but he has regained a lot of what he thought was lost forever and it made a huge difference in his moral. Glad it worked out for you.

That's great news, LOU.

MIL just had her first eye done Monday - doc feels it went well. Just needs time for healing.

LOU from Wi.-Your results sound great and I am happy for you.

I can't imagine having my eye being cut upon to remove a cataract. Heck, it even makes my eyes water up thinking about it.

I am glad to hear that your eyesight has so improved much.

Lou I am glad your surgery went well. I have seen the results of cataract surgery and it is amazing how much better the people can see.

MY one Uncle was in his eighties when he had it done. He dressed the day of getting the bandages off his first eye. He swore that he had put on a light BROWN shirt. I took him to his appointment. When the Doctor took the bandages off my Uncle keep staring at his shirt and pulling it out to look at it all during the office visit. When we got back to the car he told me what was going on. HE had put on a light BLUE shirt. IF he looked through his good eye he could see it was blue but if he looked through his "bad" eye it looked brown. The cataract was clouding his vision that bad. He was able to read without his glasses in good light. That was a first for him in over forty years.

My wife has had cataracts removed from both eyes. She went from not being able to see at all in the dark to having near "normal" night vision. That does not sound that exciting but she fell several times just going through the house at night. So it made her very scared of moving around if the light was not real bright.

So LOU it is great that you can see well again!!!!

IF any of the rest of you are having this type of trouble PLEASE GO and see if you can benefit from this surgery!!!!

My wife just had her left eye done Monday and the right one done the previous Monday. Getting along fine. Now for a month of eye drops. She is starting to see things she couldn't see for a while. The bad part is she also has a bad back, and I have been doing the housework and cleaning. With better eyesight I might be in trouble. Maybe she will fire me. Ya!!

Appreciate all the replies,I didn't get time to make all the thank you replies. Again thank you all. Warmest regards,
LOU
