hauling tractors

What truck would we need to pull a trailer to haul an Oliver 70 and 77 ? We would be hauling them around 400 miles and what length trailer would we need one is a narrow front and one is a wide front? Thanks in advance

Minimum trailer length should be 25 feet. 30 feet would be better. Definitely a deck-over gooseneck. 14,000# rating on the trailer, 20,000 is better.

Nothing less than a Chevy 2500, Ford F250, or Ram 2500.

Any truck you can get, pulling a load of that nature, will get only around 10 miles per gallon of fuel or less, and pulling just the empty trailer MIGHT get you 12 mpg.

Might be less costly to just hire it done.

Personally I would want a 20 foot deck to position and balance the load. A shorter trailer would be hard to keep the front from being heavy on the truck with two tractors.

One two or three tractors I tried to keep the truck and deck as level as possible. Hauled tractors out of Oklahoma, Ney York state and New Jersey back to North West Ohio. A lot of local miles to and from pulls.

Pictures to show options in loading my trailer.

You can cheat a little on length if both are narrow front, but if one is wide, then just measure both, add it up, and that's the length trailer you need. You may be able to cheat just a little by putting the wide on frontwards, then take the drawbar off the wide so you can nestle the front of the narrow tractor up a little between the back wheels of the wide. But the space saving will be minimal.

For that load I'd want a one ton (F350, etc.)

Thanks everyone I cnt measure them because they're 400
miles away I'm not sure the length of the trailer yet its my
dads friends were just trying to find a truck to pull it. Could
we take the wide front off?

Usually on an 8.0' or 8.5' trailer there is room to snuggle the narrow front end next to the front tire of the wide front if you are cramped on space. Tire to tire on those two tractors you will need around 25'-26'. I have a 34' goose neck and have hauled 4 on mine.

Thanks everyone Larry I think we'll try what you said I'm not sure the length of the trailer right know I'm working on finding a truck gonna talk to the neighbor farmer tomorrow about borrowing a truck from them

Ray my dads friend is a good trailer driver he's gonna drive us but hist trucks transmission is going out so I'm looking for a truck I will get more info later this week thanks again everyone

You need a 3/4 ton but just remember that the deciding factor is not pulling ability it is stopping ability.
