Skidloader......

We have at the farm a Case 1838 skidloader. It has the Kubota motor, great unit. Grandpa bought new in 96/97 and it has been well used.

I have interest in getting one for my electrical contracting business. I know the 1840 had the little cummins in it. Wouldn't mind either of the two motors.

What does one of these machines bring now a days?

Used , all depending on size $6,000 to 12,000.
New 8,000 to 30,000 . They are all over the place
on pricing. I have been looking for the second one. Look on the internet. Best you buy new or used in or around your area. leej

A gray cab 1840, which is the newer machine starting in about 96 runs $8,000 and up. A brown cab older machine can easily be found for $6,000 in good shape

Just priced out a new Gehl and a new Mustang. 45 hp with 1450lb lift capacity. Within $100 on pricing of each other right at $30,000. Can be had used much cheaper I'm sure.

I find Skid steers pretty useless, one can't get in or out easy and not at all with the loader up.
It also constantly tears up the yard when turning and on uneven ground they are absolutely terrible.(Mexican jumping beans)
Give me a full size or a compact wheel loader any time over a skidsteer.

I have all three so i have plenty experience.
The skid gets hardly used,..it is for sale.
