Are you going hunting this year? I have often wondered about taking a moose. Are they like deer are here in the US everywhere? I just got denied an elk license here in Pa and I am weighing other options. I don't know how I didn't draw an elk tag. 12 preference points with 27 tags being awarded out of 25,000 applicants. I thought I had good odds. It sure makes me wonder. Do moose frequent areas or are they wonderers?
Did you ever drag one out with a tractor?

I'll post a link from photo bucket one of these days of winching and a moose hung to cool.
In fact there is a phone in draw for left over moose tags in 30 minutes. Leave it to a government agency to not give us tags when we are in the draw, yet have tags left over ?
Access by tractor or timberjack is possible in some locations. Usually an ATV or boot after lugging the moose in 1/4's or 1/8's through the wilderness.
If you can play cards and come up with the money, we need another person or two for the hunt this year.

What time frame are you talking? We go to nashville inearly Oct and then NE in mid November.

Depending on the area. The far northern hunt opens Sept 20th and the rest of the WMU's on Oct 4th iirc.
One year 40 miles north of Nakina. We were snowed in and the lake was too frozen for float planes in mid October.
