OT Pedal Toys

The other day I was in an antique store with my wife and I ran across this toy. I can't remember what happened to the one I had, but for years I have been trying to explain to my wife and kids how incredible this toy was. I used to run one of these when I was a little guy in the late 60's. Not a big wheel but an X-15 V-RRoom. This was before the plastic big wheels came out. This thing was like a fighter jet with just a stick and it steered from the rear and would lean the direction you were turning. It was the original turn and burn. So we don't have grandkids yet, but we already have the first pedal toy. I couldn't pass it up. Did anyone else have one of these growing up?

That is awesome. I don't believe Ive ever seen one of those. Beats my JD pedal tractor that I had lol.

Neighbor kids had one and put a ton of miles on it. Want one for myself to sit in the corner for when we have grand kids.

My cousin had one when I was little. Ran the daylights out of that thing. It was way ahead of it's time for sure. That really brings back memories. The X-15 we always called it. Good find. Bob

Nope, don't have one of those. I did see something along the 127 sale that had me remembering and salivating though. Does anybody remember when grocery stores had a drawing for an Aunt Jane's Picklemobile? It was a pedal type surrey with a cloth top and a fringe around the top. I can remember drooling over that things in Barney's Supermarket here in town every time we went in there for anything. The Train kids won that thing and would ride it up and down the street by my Grandmother's house. Got my first taste of jealousy when they won that thing and I didn't.
