Hi , and THANKS for your advice ..
Question ; what is the ratio for mixing concrete ?
I have a small mixer and need to do a project , 2 post holes 36 inches down 10 inches around .. and a 3 foot by 3 foot .6inches thick on the top of the holes .. have to be 4000 psi ...
But I can't find .. how much concrete and sand and gravel ...
Was thinking 1 shovel concrete and 5 or 6 sand and 5 or 6 gravel ....
Is this close or am I way off ??

THANKS for any advice you want to share ...

If you want someone to concur, I poured my 125' driveway and pad at the top with a small mixer. The ratio I used was 3-2-1 of gravel, sand and cement. For big jobs it is easier to buy something called 60-40 which is the sand and gravel already mixed. Load in your cement and water and you are ready to roll. My drive is 25 years old and still there.

I agree 3, 2, 1, but since my shovel amounts vary between gravel and how sand heaps up I start with 12 shovel of gravel, water, then 9 shovels of sand, 3 shovels of cement and finish adding water. now this is what works for my mixer. again the mix is 3, 2, 1,

westga if you use 3 shovels of concrete
then 9 of sand would be 3 times concrete
and 12 of gravel would be 4 times concrete
to stay with the 321 formula
3 concrete
6 sand
9 gravel would be the equvilant
or
4 concrete
8 sand
12 gravel

a "6 bag mix" is the usual mix around here, meaning 6 bags of Portland Cement (air entrained for mixing) per yard. I've always bought the 60/40 mix and calculated what a 5 gal bucket of it is as a % of a yard. Then I divide up the bag of Portland into buckets and make my batches to suit the 6 bag/yard ratio. Somewhere I've got it all written out for typical rental yard mixer batches but can't find the paper right now. It's pretty easy to cipher it all out, as Jethro would say..
