Anybody remember single rib front tires? I drove an Oliver 88 and a 2 row New Idea picker and the tractor handled like power steering. I doubt if I would buy them buy I liked those on the Oliver.

I believe they were used for rice tractors and other places with mud. We had one tractor with them on for a while and they gripped good, but sink easy as well.

My uncle's 1945 MM UTU has the singe ribbed tires on it yet. I remember my dad saying the two ribbed tires didn't work well on a narrow front as it made it steer harder. I haven't seen the two ribbed tires for over 30 years or more.

We had a Ferguson TO-30 when I was growing up and it had a tri rib on the right and the two rib on the left in the front. My grandfather preferred the two rib because he said they didn't tear the ground up in the hayfields as bad when turning, but he never could find another two rib tire. I'm 37 years old and you said you hadn't seen them in 30 years or more so that's about right! As far as the single rib all of your early Fergusons and Ford/Fergusons came with the single ribs.
