what junk, it goes back to the store when we go to town on friday. when i plugged it in to the wall and/or an external drive to it the mouse wouldn't work, got chat and they said they could fix it if i sent it in, yea, right. :)
 
I've been told that all manufacturers have a certain percentage of computers that are "dead out of the box". Thst's just the way things are in that industry.
 
That's true of any product.

Things are just so complicated these days that you can't test everything. Even if it is something that's tested, and it passes, there's nothing saying it won't fail the second the customer takes it out of the box and powers it up.

If people were satisfied with '57 Chevys and AM radios being the pinnacle of technology, everything would be 100% perfect out of the box. But we want our TV, our cell phone, our Internet, our comfy quiet fancy car with all the bells and whistles... and we want it CHEAP! You can't have that without added complexity. Added complexity makes more failure points. More failure points can only mean more failures. Cheap leaves less on the bone to test the product before sending it out.

The name of the game is take it back, and get another one. It will probably be ok. Yes it's another trip to the store, but nobody forced you to buy it in the first place. You *WANTED* it, so you shoulder some of the responsibility.
 
I would rather pay a little more for something with good quality rather than something cheap. The bad part is even if you pay more it doesn't mean you are getting something good. Ive always figured that as well with a lot of products. Im guessing it is sometimes cheaper to mass produce and deal with problems later than to have good quality control in the first place. If the product goes out and doesn't work and no one complains... money in their pocket.
