case 1030 help

I just got my first tractor a case 1030 diesel. I have the engine down but have never touched the hydraulic rear part. any help in how to change fluids check levels and which to use would be much appreciated.

the trans/hyd are one compartment on your 1030, should hold 17 gallon, I recommend Case Hy-Tran oil, the fill/check is at the LH side of the pto housing.make sure the add/full tab is slid all the way to the top of the stick (these can move by accident and give you a false reading, you should have a hyd filter under the platform and to the RH side, as for draining if my memory is still on track you will have three drain plugs, drain them all

Thank you I will look for that today on my tractor. And you are correct on the filter on right side, curiously the original manual shows it on the left side

Thank you you where spot on. I had twisted it and thought it was a vent or something. We'll it was but I found the stick thank you.

Before draining the oil, get it warmed up real god and make it slosh around plenty to get the last twenty years of crud suspended so that it will drain out with the oil.
