Yesterdays paper. A tractor broke thru the upper floor of the barn, trapping the 71 year old farmer under the debris.

Sad. I'm told they used to drive loaded hay wagons onto my mow floor. I wouldn't even consider it. i know I'd got right through the floor.

We did exactly that all the time Dad was alive. Dad kept the grade wall pointed and with spouting kept the largest amount of the rain water away from the foundation. Some of the back wall posts have some rot and I would not do it now. Dad stored the combine on the barn floor as well as a coupla tractors.
The floor boards were three inch thick. My grand son backed a big tractor in and broke thru where the roof had a small leak. Mom had the planks matched and replaced along with the roof repaired. I still wouldn't back a 100 bale load in as we used to.
