Super A Farmall Vs Super A Cultivision

Restoring a 1948 Super A and when we applied the decals, they only said Super A and had a clear background. Is this correct? Most every other Super A I have ever seen has a white background Super A Decal and it says cultivision within the decal. Looking for any advise. thanks
 
The white background decal did not come into use until the other Super tractors arrived about 1951. The original Super A decals were like those of the Farmall A except that the word Super was in a wave-like position superimposed on the letter A. Also in 1948 the tractor would have the IH symbol and with McCormick-Deering over the word Farmall and not as was found on the later tractors only McCormick

What a great looking tractor! Did you do the restoration on it?
Also, that's a different type of tree growing in the background that I've not seen before. What kind is it?
 
exactly - but to be clear the world "cultivision" is at the bottom of the circle.

Maple Hunter may be your only source for the proper "mccormick deering" decals. I searched for a long time for those myself before I tried them.
 
I finished the restoration last November just in time for the 3 day Christchurch A & P (Agricultural and Pastoral) Show. I hope to have the W-4 ready for this years show as one of the themes for the Club's (Case and Vintage Farm and Machinery Club) display at this years show is 75 years since the introduction of the IH Letter series tractors.
The tree in the background is a silver birch, one of 4 on the property. However the house (behind the photographer, is to be demolished later this year as the damage done in the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes made repair totally uneconomic.
 
Thanks for all the advise and help, we got it done in time ( and correctly per these posts:)) and my son was selected for the state fair with this 4H project.
