yay !!! now i need a farmall. :)

One of the finest utility tractors ever. (I am an IH guy, but those are fine tractors.) Congratulations. Jim

Nice looking super 55, even came with some handy implements. Wish I could a good deal on one of those tractors. Enjoy the new toy!

Nice Super 55. You might want to check the serial number on the Oliver board below, I think some sheetmetal swapping has went on. The hood and radiator shell is pre '57, but the dash appears to be a 550 part due to the two large gauges. Super 55 should have one large tach in the center and small round temp, oil, and amp gauges. Know where the serial number lies for parts, as it can make a difference. Another way to tell is if it is key start or has a starter pedal, all 550s are key start, pre '57 Super 55 have a starter pedal. Should serve well, I have a '57 Super 55 gas, great tractor, easy to steer and nimble. PTO clutch oil leaks are the only Achilles heal I know of.

My neighbor has one of those and I've always admired it. I'd never tell him that though. We have a good hearted mine is better than yours war going all the time.

Nice! That little beauty is in better shape than I was expecting it to be. Looks like the rubber seat torsion spring is even still in good shape.

Nice! Now if you need a draw bar and go looking for a used one, you will find that they sell higher than the tractor.

Well, I'm jealous! Got 26 Olivers here at my place and not one Super 55 or 550! That is one cute lil fellar ya got there and the implements all look to be in great shape too! Congratulations and welcome to the Oliver world!

Looks a lot better than I expected, for the price. You need to get acquainted with Kent something or other in Palatine, Texas- he parts out S55s and 550s. He hangs out on the Oliver section of this board- give him a shout.

Somebody below said you have a 550 dash on your S55, and he's right. And I have a S55 dash on my 550, and would like to trade you, straight across, gauges and all, we each ship our own. Not sure if you can still ship stuff like that on Greyhound bus, that used to be the cheapest. But pretty sure that it could go UPS or FedEx, too.

Email me if interested- mmittge at compprime dot com. I'm in no hurry.

Nice tractor. I had a 550. I would have loved to
have had the weight bracket on the front. I
notice you have rear wheel weights which is good.

The round thing on the transmission in front of
the seat is the transmission filter, which needs
to be changed at some point. There is a
transmission ventilator with filter under the
front seat. It can clog up and let condensation
collect in the transmission, if that happens in
dry CA. It is under a round cup shaped piece of
metal held on by a small bolt which takes a 3/8 or
so wrench to turn it, if I remember right. It has
a round fiber filter. As I said, I had a 550 so
some things may be different.

There is a drawbar attachment which attaches under
the tractor and is supported by two supports going
up to the top link for the 3ph. You can't use the
3ph with the drawbar installed. It is the same
drawbar attachment, basically, as the one on the
66 tractors. Engine is the same as the 66
engines, AFIK. They had positive ground battery
systems. I couldn't see a remote hydraulic hookup.

thanks for the info keh, i was wondering what that thing was in front of the seat, sure looked like a funny place to put a pto attachment :) im gonna go thru and change all the fluids, filters, hoses, belt and grease all the zerk's. then it's on to the electrical.

FYI, that hydraulic filter is Agco only and not cheap. My last
one cost about $40. Napa will sell you a hydraulic filter,
but it won't be right. I use hy-tran in my S55 hydraulics.

Great! My email is on my office computer, so don't know if it came through or not. I'll reply to you when I go to work.

Email didn't come through, Jen-

[email protected] drop the xyz. Don't like to post my actual, click-able address, because there are "harvesting" robot programs that go through boards and pick up email addresses for nefarious purposes.
